As families in Loyalist Shores prepare for the upcoming school year, it's essential to be informed about the local educational landscape and the exciting developments enhancing learning opportunities in our community.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School: A New Chapter

Significant progress is underway at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School, located at 97 Park Crescent, directly across from Loyalist Shores. Recognizing the growth in Amherstview, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board has initiated plans to construct a new, state-of-the-art facility on the existing school grounds. This $28.3 million project will provide 449 student spaces and include three childcare rooms accommodating 49 children. The new building will continue to offer both French Immersion and English programs for students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Construction is slated to begin later this year, with the current building remaining operational throughout the process to ensure uninterrupted learning for students. This development underscores the Board's commitment to providing modern, high-quality educational environments for our expanding community.
